1. Information We Collect

Most of our tools run entirely in your browser. The text, numbers, images and files you put into a tool are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to us or stored by us. The tools that cannot work that way are listed in section 3.

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not ask for your name, e-mail address or any other personal detail in order to use a tool. We do, however, measure how the site is used: this site runs Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-3VKK14JSVH) and displays Google AdSense advertising (publisher ID ca-pub-7149799505071349). Both are loaded by Google on every page, including this one, and both receive your IP address, the page you are on, your approximate location, and information about your device and browser. That data is collected and processed by Google under Google's own terms, not ours.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

Your display preferences โ€” colour theme, dark mode, saved favourites and any tool history a tool offers โ€” are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are not sent to our servers, and are cleared when you clear your browsing data.

Our own server sets two cookies, freewebtools_session and XSRF-TOKEN. They carry a session identifier and a form-security token, they expire after two hours, and they are not used to profile you or to track you across other websites.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies and read their own identifiers from your browser. Those are set by Google, not by us, and they can be used for advertising and measurement across sites. You can control them in your browser settings, through Google's My Ad Center, or with any cookie-blocking extension; the tools on this site work with them blocked. Where consent is legally required, Google shows its own consent dialog before advertising cookies are set, and records your answer; you can reopen it from the link Google places at the foot of the page.

3. Third-Party Services

The following services receive data when you use this site. The advertising entry is not a single company: the consent dialog Google shows on this site states how many advertising partners the choice covers and links the full list, and that list is much longer than the entries below.

  • Google AdSense serves the advertising on every page (see How Google uses information from sites that use its services)
  • Google's advertising partners: if you consent to advertising in Google's dialog, that consent also covers the separate advertising companies Google works with. They may store and read cookies and device identifiers here and receive the same page, approximate location and device data. The dialog names the current number and links them under “List of partners”, and you can refuse them there, individually or all at once
  • Google Analytics 4 measures page views and traffic sources on every page
  • The YouTube subscriber counters use the YouTube Data API
  • The TikTok counters read publicly available profile data
  • The cryptocurrency tools use public price APIs
  • The IP lookup tools necessarily see the IP address they are asked about

Please refer to these services' own privacy policies โ€” in Google's case, the Google Privacy Policy โ€” for information about how they handle data.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the security of our website. All connections to our site are encrypted using HTTPS.

5. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page.
